C & S - Shiny Happy People

What a wonderful day we all had at this beautiful couples wedding. It took place on a windy, but bright July day. It was in a huge field in Ringmer, with stunning extended views of the rolling Downs, and also the wind turbine in Glynde.

It doesn’t matter when you book your wedding, you can never guess the weather. I have photographed a boiling hot wedding in March; a very rainy and cold one in July; all the way to storm winds in February ( I guess February is more unreliable, but really 70 mph winds! I tell you that was a skilled hairdresser that manage to fix that veil. It never shifted). According to an old wives tale the only way you can guarantee good weather is by burying a sausage in you garden the night before.

This day had a rainy start, which meant that the service would have to take place in the marquee rather than outside. They do say that it’s good luck for it to rain on your wedding day. All these old wives tales!

This lovely couple had already legally married the previous week at the local registry office, so there were no official rules to be applied for where they tied the knot. They met at school, and had been friends for many years, before ending up together, aww. The person that officiated was their best friend from school. It was lovely, and it made the whole service more personal and intimate. Who wouldn’t want their bestie to marry them? This wedding was about family and friends. It’s what all weddings should be about, being surrounded by the ones you love, celebrating love. The brides aunt had found the stunning wedding dress in a local charity shop. The brides friends from work made the bouquets full of sunflowers, and a friend made the four cakes.

It was a wonderful day, full of all the things that make the best weddings, plenty of food; drink; love; laughter and confetti!
